My Intentions in Life for 2017

Many people say that when the new year comes they are going to be new people. I can kind of relate to that but not really because my intentions/resolutions for 2017 are to be more positive, organized, and take healthier food choices. I want to be more positive in the new year so that I can see the world in a less negative way. Negativity revolves around many people these days and affects their life a lot. I want to be more organized in the new year because I'm not very organized when it comes to my room or life in general. I feel like it would help me out in my life. Lastly, I want to choose healthier food choice. I believe that being healthy is the way to go, so I want to take healthier food choices. These are my intentions for the upcoming year.

The Best Gift I Have Recieved

In my lifetime I have recieved many gifts, most of which were good. The best gift I have recieved is a stuffed dog that I named Doradita. She was given to me in 2007 by my cousins who live in Mexico. The reason why this stuffed dog is so special to me is because she was my grandfather's dog first, then he gave it to my aunt, who gave it to my cousins, who gave it to me. Overall that dog is very old and has been in the family for a long time. I have her till this day and is very valuable to me, that's the best gift I have recieved.

Frozen Charlotte By Alex Bell

The book I recently finished is called Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell. It is dark and creepy for some people. The reason why I say some people is because the entire story has to do with dolls, so if dolls creep you out then this book might too. Frozen Charlotte is about a girl named Sophie who goes and stays at her uncle's house. She is nervous because not only did her best friend just die, but the last time she saw her cousins was a long time ago and they have changed since then. The house where she arrives to is a little bit of a murder house. Back in the 1900's it used to be an all-girl school and was shut down for a mysterious reason. Little do they know that the reason the school shut down, is still in that house. This book takes you on the journey that Sophie went on to discover why her best friend died but also to save her uncle and cousins.
I really liked this book because it is different to what I usually read. I usually read teen fiction books or books you can find on Wattpad. I don't know why but I really enjoy reading cliche teen fiction books. Either way this book was really out of my comfort zone and it was interesting. I don't like dolls so it was creepy for me. I sometimes liked how there was a lot of imagery in it and made it seem like you were actually there. Overall I really liked this book and I think a lot of people will like it.

My Name

My first name is very different from normal names but last names on the other hand are quite common. My first name is made up of parts of my grandmas' names. Bri is from my grandma named Brenda, Ma is for my grandma named Maria, and Dy is for my great-grandma named Edelmira. The reason why my parents named me Brimady is because in Latin culture it is common to name your children after their parents or grandparents. My mom didn't want to continue on with that tradition because out of my entire family, my brother and I were the first ones to be born in the United States. So, instead of naming us after them or our grandparents they decided to combine their names and make a new one.
I have two last names so they have a hyphen between them. The name right after Brimady is from my father's side of the family. There are many in the world with that surname so to different people it means something different. According to Google, my surname originated from Spain and it means "son of Ramiro". My other surname is also very common. It originated from Spain and is common in Spain, Portugal, parts of France, the Americas, and the Philippines. Google doesn't really say what it means though.

Favorite Quote

I know many quotes and to pick one as my favorite is kind of hard. A lot of the quotes I read don't speak to me in a way that makes them special to me. Most say the same thing but use different words to explain their concept. Some that I can relate most to are "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all" by Aristotle and "Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction" by John F. Kennedy.
The reason why I chose the quote "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all," by Aristotle is because I think it has truth behind it. To me this quote means that when you learn something, you shouldn't just have it stored in your mind and only use it for academic purposes or etc. You should apply those things to your morals, goals, and your life in general. We learn everything for a purpose so find that purpose, and apply it to your life.
The reason why I chose the second quote "Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction" by John F. Kennedy because I can relate to it. Every time I am doing something I ask myself why I am doing it and how does this help me in the future.
